TWO CASES OF CHILDHOOD ASTHMA TREATED WITH HOMEOPATHY
These two young girls were both treated with homeopathic remedies for their asthma. The condition is the same, the remedies are very different. These two stories should give you an idea of how homeopaths work. We not only look at the physical symptoms but also the personality and life circumstances of the patient.
Emma 8 years
Emma had had asthma and severe coughing fits since she was 4 years old.Her coughs were terrible. Her respiratory tract was full of mucus, the cough was spasmodic and she often vomited after a coughing bout. She had had several mild asthma attacks and used a Ventolin inhaler frequently and hated it.
Emma's mother was at the end of her tether with her daughter's behavior. Emma was fiercely jealous of her sister. She could be unfeeling and rebellious. The mother said everything was a battle.
I gave Emma 2 homeopathic remedies, Drosera and Lachesis. Lachesis is a suitable remedy for people who are emotionally very intense and can be jealous.
One month after the treatment Emma's cough was practically gone and she was hardly using her inhaler. Emma's mother said her behavior was transformed.The jealousy and aggression were much less and Emma was happier in herself.
Amy 11 years
Amy needed to take her Ventolin inhaler during physical exercise and when she developed mucus in her throat and could not breathe properly.Unlike Emma who hated having an inhaler, Amy was really worried about going anywhere without it and sometimes probably used it just because she felt anxious.
Amy has a very sweet, cheerful temperament but often lacks confidence and needs a lot of reassurance from parents.
In the months to follow I gave Amy three different homeopathic remedies: Calc.carb., Pulsatilla and Natrum muriaticum. These remedies are mostly prescribed for people who are quite sensitive and can be lacking in confidence.
Amy's progress was gradual, but within a few months she was hardly using her inhaler and was starting to feel more confident in herself.
