English Fete at St.Andrew Street Charity Day! The St.Andrew Street Association in Hertford is holding another Charity Day on Saturday May 6th 2006 between 10am and 4pm. Following a similar successful day last year, when over £1400 was raised for Children in Need, it is hoped that this year's recipients, the Macmillan Cancer Fund, will benefit equally. St.Andrew Street in Hertford boasts a unique collection of independent businesses, who are all working hard to create an 'English Fete' atmosphere for this day. Among the attractions will be cake and tombola stalls, bric-a-brac, car-washing, live music, and a children's ride. In addition, the day coincides with the TA National Recruiting Day, and the organisation, which has a base in the attractive street, will be demonstrating and exhibiting at their headquarters. There will be a traditional candyfloss stall, plants and DVD's for sale. Internationally renowned artist, Trevor Chamberlain, will be on hand, before mid-day, to autograph copies of his new book. St.Andrew Street has been rightly dubbed 'the quality Street of Hertford' and it is hoped that it will live up to it's reputation on this day, as well as benefiting such a worthy cause as the Macmillan Cancer Fund.
